Pluvek cushions are made from Canvas, PVC and Acrylic canvas. Canvas relies on its densely woven fibres to make it waterproof along with its coating of waterproof solution. If the fibres get scrubbed and rubbed too hard they can move apart or fray, or the waterproofing rubbed off meaning the canvas may leak. If your canvas gets marked and dirty, try to clean it as gently as possible.
Use a dry, soft brush (like a shoe brush) to gently clean the mud away in circular or sweeping motions. If it is particularly grubby then you can sponge clean very gently using cold water mixed with a drop of eco washing up liquid. Take great care when cleaning not to over rub the fibres!
We recommend that you re-treat your Pluvek with a waterproof solution after the first two or three seasons of use. We like Grangers Fabsil Gold and think it works a treat on Regentex, follow the manufacturers instructions when treating your canvas.
Do not put your Pluvek in the washing machine, this will make it fade and mark. If you wish to clean it thoroughly, we recommend washing in mildly soapy warm water by hand before re-proofing.
